Gels: The ultimate fast food! Best when you need fast-acting, easy-to-digest source of energy on the move! Use it before and during exercise (every 30-45 minutes) to keep you going strong. Most packets are about 100 calories with some flavors having caffeine which helps metabolize fat during exercise, giving the body an additional fuel source. We offer four brands: Gu, Accel Gel, Cliff and Honey Stinger.
GU is the original energy gel. It provides 100 calories of high-quality carbohydrates in the form of 70-80% maltodextrin and 30-20% fructose (ratio depends upon the flavor) along with a unique blend of amino acids and electrolytes to fight muscle fatigue, speed up the conversion of carbohydrates into usable energy, maintain focus and prevent cramping.
GU Roctane is very similar to the original GU. The main difference is that Gu Roctane contains a higher amount of amino acids and electrolytes. This helps on longer runs to fight muscle fatigue and fight cramping. This product contains 35mg of caffeine. Caffeine is great for improving performance and it speeds up the absorption of carbohydrate which can then be used for energy.
ACCEL GEL: Accel Gel is unique because it contains protein (5 grams). The added protein gives you a head start on the recovery process and may help you feel satiated longer. It has a 4:1 ratio of carbohydrate and protein which has been found to increase endurance, reduce muscle damage, and promote recovery. This gel contains 100% of your vitamin C and vitamin E. These antioxidants combat tissue breakdown. This 100 calorie gel is best to use during or after your workouts. Kiwi-strawberry is our top-selling flavor!
Honey Stinger Gel: Honey is the main source of fuel in the honey stinger gel. This gel is easier to tolerate on the stomach as it has the same ratio of glucose: fructose as fruit. If you can tolerate fruit you should be able to tolerate this gel. Honey is rich in carbohydrates. Take this gel 15-20minutes before activity to get a steady rate of energy throughout the workout. Take this gel during your run to feel fuller longer and delay fatigue. This gel contains electrolytes to help avoid muscle cramping. Honey stinger contains a gel with 32mg of caffeine which can help with mobilization of fat stores giving the body an additional fuel source.
